TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County deputies have arrested an assistant principal and charged her with sending a topless photo of herself to a 14-year-old Manatee County boy.

Lauren Tilo, 29, was arrested Thursday morning at her home at 9805 Lombard Court in Tampa.

She was charged with Transmission of Harmful Materials to a Minor and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.

According to a statement from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the boy told investigators on Wednesday that Tilo sent him, by way of cell phone text, “an inappropriate photo of her in a provacative and sexual pose.”

The boy, according to the statement, told detectives that he met Tilo online in February playing World of Warcraft, a popular computer game.  He said they became friends and “advised each other of their age.”

At this point, detectives do not believe Tilo and the boy ever met in person.

Tilo bonded out of jail on a $10,000 bond Thursday afternoon.  Hillsborough County School spokesperson Linda Cobbe said Tilo was placed on paid suspension.

Investigators are trying to determine if Tilo may have had inappropriate contact with any other students.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 914-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.

A 19-year-old Pennsylvania woman sued her former high school Thursday, claiming school officials invaded her privacy and violated her free-speech rights when they confiscated her cell phone, found semi-nude photos stored inside and turned the phone over to authorities.

The federal lawsuit, filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, says looking at photos on the woman’s phone was like opening her mail or viewing private home videos.

“This search was much farther than what the law allows,” said Valerie Burch, an attorney for the ACLU of Pennsylvania. “There was no reason to go looking for these pictures on her phone, and unless you have a very good reason, you can’t go through someone’s private things. We think it is a grave violation of her privacy.”

Tunkhannock Area School District officials said they were reviewing the complaint and declined to comment further Thursday.

The lawsuit alleges that the trouble began after a teacher confiscated the cell phone of the student, identified in the suit only as N.N., when she broke school rules by making a call on campus in January 2009.

She was later called to Principal Gregory Ellsworth’s office, suspended for three days and told that her cell phone had been turned over to authorities after Ellsworth found semi-nude and nude photos inside, the lawsuit says.

Wyoming County District Attorney George Skumanick Jr. later sent a letter to the school, the lawsuit alleges, threatening to bring child pornography charges against the student unless she completed a re-education course on sexual violence and victimization. N.N. took the class out of fear that she would be prosecuted, the complaint claims.

Skumanick could not be reached for comment.

When other students at the same high school were caught allegedly sending nude and semi-nude photos on their cell phones last year, Skumanick gave them a similar choice: taking re-education classes or facing charges.

“An adult would go to prison for this,” Skumanick told CNN when discussing those incidents in 2009. “If you take the photo, you’ve committed a crime. If you send the photo, you’ve committed a different crime, but essentially the same crime.”

The lawsuit says N.N.’s photos were never printed, distributed or uploaded on the Internet and were intended to be seen only by the student and possibly by her long-time boyfriend.

The lawsuit lists the Tunkhannock Area High School, Ellsworth, Skumanick, the teacher who confiscated the cell phone, a police detective, Wyoming County and several others as defendants.

In the lawsuit, N.N. says she wants damages, reimbursement for the re-education course she was required to take and the deletion of any stored copies of the photographs.

“We are aware of the lawsuit, and we do have an unofficial copy, but we haven’t received any formal documentation. We have been in contact with our solicitor, who will be handling the matter, and as such we will have no further public comment at this time,” Tunkhannock Area School District Superintendent Michael Healey told CNN.

Solicitor Frank Tunis said officials were reviewing the complaint but declined to comment further.

DETROIT (WXYZ) – Detroit Police say they have arrested the manager of the Allstars Topless bar for employing a 14-year-old girl as a topless dancer.

Andrew Hutson, 31, was arrested Wednesday at the club and has been arraigned on a 20-year felony charge of child sexually abusive activity.

During a news conference Friday afternoon, officials from Detroit Police and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office told reporters that the Mobile Strike Force unit and the Sex Crimes unit made the bust after being alerted by the child’s mother.

When the mother found out what her daughter was doing, she went to the club, got the teen and called police.

Investigators say the girl danced at the club for two months. She reportedly used fake identification to get hired. She was making around $350 a night, and turned most of that money to the club and for tipping the DJ and other employees.

“It is sickening by itself that this defendant allegedly knowingly allowed a child to dance in his establishment,” said Chief Warren Evans. “But to profit from it is a whole other level of exploitation.”

Prosecutor Kym Worthy signed the warrant charging Hutson with the felony.

“The facts alleged in this case are truly disturbing because this is exploitation of a young female at the most base level,” says Prosecutor Worthy. “Our youth are not some cheap commodity, to be used and cast aside. We are sending a clear message that if you hire underage women you will face criminal charges.”

Investigators say the 14-year-old girl has known mental issues. Authorities also say the club has been a trouble spot in past.

Chief Evans says he will now try to get the club’s business and liquor license suspended or revoked.

Dancers must be licensed with the city of Detroit in order to perform at a strip club. They must also be 18 years of age.

A police detective and a corrections officer have been charged in connection with the carjacking and rape of a young woman in California.

The circumstances of the case have investigators looking into whether the suspects may be responsible for other sexual attacks in the area.

“We believe it’s a possibility,” Sgt. David McBride of the Ontario Police Department told CNN. “The manner in which the crime was committed, it seemed very unlikely it just happened at the spur of the moment.”

Anthony Nicolas Orban, a five-year veteran of the Westminster Police Department, and prison guard Jeff Thomas Jelinek, are each being held on $1 million bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., according to a statement from the Ontario Police Department.

The suspects, who are both 30, allegedly ambushed the woman last Saturday evening as she was walking from her work to her car in the Ontario Mills parking lot.

According to police, Jelinek stood watching, Orban opened the passenger side of the vehicle at the same time the victim entered the car, and at gunpoint told her to drive away. Jelinek remained in the parking lot while Orban forced the woman to head north on the 15 Freeway, police said.

According to investigators, Orban directed the woman to exit the freeway and to park in a commercial complex in Fontana.

“Orban then forced the victim to disrobe and then brutally raped her at gunpoint,” the statement said.

Police said Orban fled the scene but left his gun in the woman’s car.

It is alleged that Jelinek met Orban and drove him back to the Mills Mall parking lot where Olson called his wife and told her he had lost his gun.

Officers from the Ontario police department interviewed Orban and Jelinek about the missing gun and determined that “their statements were inconsistent and somewhat suspicious,” authorities said.

Later that night, the woman reported the rape and identified Orban and Jelinek as the suspects, police said.

Orban was booked for charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, rape and carjacking. He has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation.

Jelinek has been charged with carjacking and as an accessory to the crime of rape. Jelinek, who is a corrections officer at the Chino Institute for Men, has also been relieved of his duties pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Ontario police department has released their booking photos to determine if there are any other potential victims. “We want to make sure we get the word out to the public,” said Sgt. McBride. “We don’t want to leave any stone unreturned.”

Police in Trenton, New Jersey, on Saturday announced more arrests in the case of a 15-year-old girl who allegedly allowed men to have sex with her and her 7-year-old stepsister for money.

Two men and three boys, ranging in age from 13 to 20, have been charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Trenton Police Director Irving Bradley said at a news conference Saturday evening.

Gregory Joseph Leary, 20, was arrested and charged Thursday. Police announced the arrest and charges against Tiemear Lewis, 19, on Saturday. Both men are from Trenton.

Police also announced charges against the juveniles, ages 13, 14 and 17 on Saturday. Their names are being withheld.

More arrests are expected in the case, authorities said.

Police say they believe as many as seven men and boys paid for sex with the two girls during a party Sunday night.

“We’re not finished because everyone that is responsible is still not arrested,” Trenton Mayor Douglas Palmer said. “The police will not rest until we get every individual who was involved in this,”

Officials say the 15-year-old was baby-sitting her stepsister on the afternoon of March 28 when she encountered two males who invited her to “hang out” with them. She agreed and brought the 7-year-old along to an apartment.

The 15-year-old first agreed to have sex with the men for money, Trenton police Capt. Joseph Juniak said. She then gave the men permission to “touch” the 7-year-old, he said, adding that it’s likely the 15-year-old gave the 7-year-old some of the money she had received
