The costumed man, with a mask and cape, entered a Chase bank Thursday morning and demanded cash. Although he didn’t have a lightsaber, his gun was more than enough to persuade the teller to hand over the money.

The caped criminal then fled east through the bank’s parking lot.

Suffolk County police said they are searching for the man, described as around 6 feet tall.

A Michigan woman has been sentenced to nine to 30 years in prison for having sex with her biological son, whom she had given up for adoption and later tracked down on Facebook. He was 14 at the time.

Aimee L. Sword, a 36-year-old who lives in a suburb outside of Detroit, plead guilty to having sex with the boy once, even though they had relations multiple times. Sword, who worked at a department store makeup counter, used to get yearly updates and pictures of her son from his adoptive parents. When she didn’t get one for his 14th birthday, she did some investigative work on Facebook and tracked down her son (now 16) and started a relationship with him in 2008, which soon turned sexual. After getting in trouble in his hometown, his adoptive mother even let the boy live with Sword, her husband, and five other children for a period of time.

Sword’s lawyer told the Detroit Free Press, “Aimee’s searching for a reason why this happened. She can’t understand it. She’s going to get some counseling.”

You fucking think she’s going to get counseling? She had sex with her son! And speaking of counseling, it’s amazing that this woman managed to royally fuck up her son for life even after she gave him up for adoption to presumably avoid just that. We just hope his high school English teacher saves him the embarrassment of having to read Oedipus Rex anytime soon.

Hubert Rotteveel, 47, of Dixon, California was arrested on his bike Wednesday afternoon after allegedly robbing two banks in just over an hour, said Sgt. Anthony Cucchi of the Woodland Police Department. Woodland is the county seat of Yolo County, California and is located about 15 milest northwest of Sacramento.

“He’s been a long time resident of Dixon,” Mayor Jack Batchelor, Jr., said of Rotteveel. “He was the general manager for the Sacramento Knights, a professional soccer team that is no longer active.”

His alleged crime spree came to an end this week.

The robber pedaled up to the River City Bank in Woodland shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Wearing black clothing, sunglasses and a white bicycle helmet, he held tellers at gunpoint and demanded money before fleeing on a bike, authorities said.

At approximately 3 p.m., the First Northern Bank in West Sacramento was robbed by a bike-riding bandit.

“As he’s fleeing that bank on his bicycle,” Cucchi said, “he passes a police officer from West Sacramento and the dye pack (in the stolen money) in his bag explodes in front of the officer.

“He tries a quick getaway and the officer gets right on him and apprehends him,” Cucchi said.

Rotteveel was being held at the Yolo County jail with bail set at $200,000, authorities said.

Authorities believe the suspect may be linked to several armed bank robberies in northern California, including one in Santa Cruz on Monday afternoon.

“I know the family and I was saddened by the situation and it’s unfortunate,” Mayor Batchelor said. “It’s something that’s obviously going to go through the courts at this point.”

Wayne County Judge Sheila Gibson gave Demarco Harris a blended sentence. The Detroit teen, who committed the crime when he was 12, will be re-evaluated by the court after his 21st birthday.

Depending on the court’s findings, Harris will either be released from custody or sentenced as an adult to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

If Harris is convicted of a felony while he is in custody, he will automatically be sentenced as an adult to life in prison, the judge said.

“There are really no happy endings in a case like this,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym I. Worthy said in a statement. “My heart goes out to the family of the victim who have lost a loved one due to a violent and senseless act.”

Harris was found guilty earlier this year of murdering Trisha Babcock during a robbery. The 24-year-old woman was shot to death inside her parked car in Detroit on August 1, 2009.

The victim’s father called the sentence unfair. “I feel he should definitely spend the rest of his life in prison,” Steven Babcockn told CNN. “For him to have a chance or opportunity to be set free when he is 21 is not justice for my daughter.”

Babcock said he wanted the judge to set an example. “Just because you’re 12, 13, 14 doesn’t mean you can murder somebody and be set free when you are 21,” he said.

Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, said Harris will be confined to a secure juvenile facility where offenders convicted of serious violent felonies are heavily monitored.

SPRINGER, Oklahoma — A Carter County man is accused of trying to burn down his wife’s home near Springer and set her on fire.

Undersheriff Milton Anthony said James Miller, 38, broke into the mobile home in search of estranged wife, Vicki, and set the bed on fire.

“He had took a can of gasoline and poured it all over his wife and was attempting to set fire to her at which time she ran out of the house, got in her car, and left,” Anthony said.

Miller was arrested and now faces felony arson charges.

“She was pretty shook up, which I think normally anybody would be that went through an ordeal like that,” Anthony said.

Vicki Miller is seeking a protective order and staying out of sight.

James Miller remained in the Carter County jail Friday afternoon. His bond is set at $75,000.
